"There's not a lot of ruins left but the history of the place and the people there are very interesting. I ended up talking to a shop owner who is one of the descendants of the ones who fled to this place after a massacre in Yucatan and founded the small town. There are some Mayan ruins and a church. They have an annual party celebrating the founding of the town and I am told 40,000 people show up from all over the world during the 3 day celebration on May 3rd. Tons of music, food and drinks. Sounds like it's worth checking out."
