What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Jardín Borda for its beautiful botanical gardens and historical significance, noting it as a peaceful escape. However, some reviews mention that maintenance could be improved, particularly regarding the fountains and the lake. Despite these points, it's considered a worthwhile visit for its natural beauty and cultural offerings.
"Excellent Botanical Garden. Most of the fountains were operational. The large one at the lower end was very nice. We even saw one possum"
Joel
"Entrance was free on Sunday when I visited. Google said it opened at 10 am, but they opened at 10:30. There are several fountains, but only 2 are in operation. there is a mix of shade and sunny areas. Bathrooms are at the entrance and so is the art display. My favorite was "el carnaval de la carne." Overall, it is a nice place to walk, take pictures or hide from the sun. With proper garden grooming, more plant variety and lake cleaning, this could be a paradise. There is a parking across the street $16pesos/hr. Church, arts and crafts vendors and restaurants surround the garden center. I would like to come back in a rainy season to see how the garden trives when water is abundant."

"Nice place to go for a walk. Unfortunately, the fountains weren't on. I was told that there used to be events held here to pay for upkeep so now the fountains are only on during the rainy season. At the time of my visit, there was an art exhibit for feminism and I saw some of the artworks as very unusual."
