What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Wild Tours Cozumel for its thrilling ATV adventures through the jungle and the unique experience of swimming in cenotes like Jade Cavern. The guides are frequently highlighted as energetic and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience. However, some guests note that the tours can be expensive with numerous upselling opportunities for photos and food, and caution is advised regarding water quality and potential allergens.
"When we purchased the tickets there were no warnings about not being able to snorkel if You have allergies. But when we showed up they told my husband he had to set out on the snorkeling part. He did get to hold and pet The manta rays though. I wish they would let us take our own pictures though. They wanted us to buy over price pictures. No one in our large group purchased any pictures. If you do this tour bring around $300 in cash and be prepared to barker for everything. They have some good food options where you get to pet the manta ray but you have to pay for the food there.
Next was the Jade cave. The view of the cave was beautiful. It smells strongly of sulfur however. So be careful it can trigger thean allergy attack even if you don't go in the water. that something they did not warn us about.
The drive to the cave was extremely bumpy at one point and the toilets had no lids to sets to set on at the cave. Our tour guide Francesco was amazing though.
At the end of the Jade cavern cove tour they take you to a place where your kids can hang out on a splash pad and get free food and play in a pool. They also have slides available.
Lots of shopping experiences here. We had one person try to sell us something for $100.00 we walked away and he dropped it down to $40.00.
The free food that they offer is low quality not worth it. The free drinks however are actually good. But don't contain much alcohol. Even though this is a resort location and should mean it's safe to drink it wasn't. The water there made us all very sick."

"Off the beaten path and not cheap, but so worth it! Great crew, great location, great buggies (we had a tire/rim mishap that they fixed very quickly) - need animals and birds, great jungle dune bugging, and a cenote at the end! FANTASTIC- I would highly recommend this company and tour."

"Wild Tours was great! We took an ATV ride to a cenote. Gabriel was a fantastic guide, he made sure we all felt comfortable with the ride and was knowledgeable about the cenote and local wildlife. Wild tours made sure we had a cab lined up after the ATV ride and cenote exploration to take us wherever we wanted to go next. And an added bonus they had the cutest cats."

The Thrill of ATV Adventures
Participants should be prepared for a bumpy ride and wear clothing that can get dirty. The trails can be challenging, adding to the excitement. Many visitors highlight the scenic landscapes and the feeling of adrenaline as key aspects of the ATV adventure. It's a fantastic way to see a side of Cozumel beyond the beaches.
While the core ATV experience is a major draw, it's often combined with other activities, making it a comprehensive adventure package. The guides are typically praised for their energy and ability to make the ride enjoyable and safe for all skill levels.
Discovering Cozumel's Cenotes
Visitors should be aware that some cenotes can have a strong sulfur smell, which might trigger allergies for sensitive individuals. While the water is generally clean, there have been reports of concerns about water quality in some locations, so it's wise to stay informed. The experience of jumping into the cenote water is often a highlight, with fellow tour-goers cheering each other on.
Beyond the swimming aspect, the cenotes themselves are geological wonders. The tours often provide a guided explanation of the cenote's formation and significance, adding an educational element to the adventure. It's a refreshing contrast to the typical beach activities.
Marine Encounters and Local Culture
Beyond the adventure tours, the area around Cedral offers a glimpse into Cozumel's history and traditions. Cedral is one of the island's oldest settlements, founded by Maya inhabitants, and it still preserves its deep-rooted customs. Events like the Fiesta de la Santa Cruz showcase this living heritage.
While the tours focus on adventure, there are opportunities to experience local culture, especially if you venture into areas like Cedral. Be prepared for a significant amount of shopping opportunities at various stops, where prices can be negotiable.
