What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find El Tuito to be a charming and authentic small town, particularly vibrant on Sundays with its growing Mercadito. It's praised for its 'sleepy Mexico' vibe and as a crucial gateway to the beautiful Cabo Corrientes coastline. While some find it quiet, others appreciate its captivating, return-to-the-past atmosphere and the kindness of its people.
"Time to give a El Tuito plaza update, the "Mercadito" on Sundays has been growing it seems on a weekly basis! The various "artisanal" vendors begin setting up their booths around 8am and start leaving about 2pm. You will find ceramics, plants, baked goods, vegetables, herbs, handmade soaps and even a booth making cocktails from the local agave liquor "Raicilla"! If you are a early riser like me make sure and partake in a traditional ranchero beverage called pajarete, the goat ranchero will milk the goats milk into your self prepared cup. You will have a choice of grated Mexican chocolate, sugar, honey, instant coffee and pure alcohol! The ranchero's wife is there selling fresh cheese (panella) and liters of fresh goats milk, just be advised when the goats are empty they are closed!🇲🇽"

"El Tuito is basically the County Seat for Cabo Corrientes. To some it is a sleepy small village. In reality it is the Hub for farming which provides goods for the surrounding area. Access by road to many of the small beach towns on the Coast goes through El Tuito."
