What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Playa Arbolitos is lauded for its stunning natural beauty, exceptionally clear waters perfect for snorkeling, and dramatic coastal scenery. Visitors appreciate the remote and peaceful camping experience. However, the challenging access roads requiring high-clearance vehicles and the complete lack of facilities are significant considerations.
"Best Snorkeling in Ensenada. I did this with Ensenada Excursions and Tours off a Carnival Cruise with my wife and teenage son. Was great! Cool waters, but we got wet suits;)"
Jesse
"For reference, once I turned into the dirt road from Highway 23 I followed it up the hill, took a left, drove another ~ 1 km, passed under a stand of eucalyptus trees, then got to an open gate that said "Campo #2". I did not go to the Arbolitos campground.
Anyway once you go through that gate there's one chance to pull off before you commit to going down a steep hill with hairpin switchbacks and one very narrow, very bumpy section with a big dropoff on the side. So I recommend a high clearance 4x4 vehicle.
There are signs that say "100 pesos" but no one around and no place to pay. This was lunch time on a Thursday, so it might be different on the weekends.
There are several level spots with trash bins. Some easier to reach than others. The place has several little coves with stairs built down to them, some without stairs. At low tide you can access the rocks to see the tide pools and collect shellfish. The view is incredible and there's a cool breeze off the water. I saw a mother seal and her calf. Lots of little footpaths to explore but be careful as they are steep and you're far from help.
No cell service. No restrooms."

"Amazing view and great cove to spend the day. This piece of heaven is worth the drive. Be smarter than us, do not drive down to the cove unless you are in a 4x4! The drive to the cliffs is probably best done in an SUV or better. If you're in a sedan just go slow."
