Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the stunning, rewarding views of Barranca de Huentitán, making the challenging hike worthwhile. The opportunity to descend to the river and the presence of refreshment stops are highlights. However, the strenuous nature of the climb back up and the rocky terrain require good preparation and fitness.

"Beautiful views and a challenging hike up and down the mountain 64 levels but well worth it. Plenty of refreshment stops along the way - coffee, waters, snacks etc."

Tom

"I had the chance to come here today and give this place a look and it was great. I did not know what to expect exactly. All I knew was that this was a hiking trail and that it goes down to the river.

Once I get to where the trail begins, I notice that most of the way down is a rocky road. I mean there were rocks just about everywhere so keep this in mind if you come here. My shoes are more for running on concrete and sidewalk than rocks.

It takes a little over an hour to get to the bottom, and once down there you can go see the bridge and then there is also a ghost town. I went to see the bridge only and it was really cool.

The way back up seemed like it went by faster but it is also more taxing on the body. I realized that most of the people who go on that trail do not go all the way down. It can get pretty brutal for some.

Overall, the views and scenery are what made this trip worth it. It makes me want to go and see what else there is in Guadalajara in terms of nature and trails."

Gustavo Espinoza Jr

"Easy to get down, less easy to return upwards. Don’t bring boots unless rainy, it’s easier when wearing shoes and light clothing. Make sure to bring enough water. If taking the train tracks be careful, not recommended to people without physical condition. Great please to hike, no doubt you can have a great time here"
