What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Parque Agua Azul is widely praised as a peaceful, free urban oasis in Guadalajara, offering a welcome escape with its lush greenery, aviary, and museums. Visitors appreciate the tranquil atmosphere, the opportunity for picnics, and the educational exhibits. However, some note that certain attractions may have limited hours or be closed, and advise being aware of surroundings, especially in the evening.
"A real jewel with fully functioning free public restrooms (be sure to grab TP if needed by the wash basins as there isn't any in the stalls). It is fenced and gated as it does close early in the evening but it was free to enter on a Thursday afternoon. A peaceful place with many benches and quiet spots despite being in the middle of Guadalajara. There is a massive bird aviary filled with healthy exotic birds. It was locked when I visited but you could look in from the outside and some of the more curious birds would come up to you. There is also an equally massive butterfly enclosure just inside the main gate, also locked but it appears that it is set up for visitors to walk through as is the aviary so possibly some days it is open to walk inside. There are a couple of staged areas for shows or concerts, the smaller one has a roof over it. The entire park has paved trails throughout and there is also a museum (closed too). The "Agua Azul" is in the form of a tranquil pond with a fountain. The tall trees are home to large wild green parrots and squirrels."
