Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Amparo Museum for its extensive and diverse art collections, spanning from pre-Hispanic to contemporary works. The rooftop cafe with its stunning city views and affordable treats is a major highlight, as are the free workshops offered on weekends. Some visitors note the lack of English explanations for exhibits as a minor drawback.

"This museum is so much better than I expected. In a way the collection of a pre-Colombian artefacts is even better than in Mexico City, because a few pieces on display are so well explained and so much context is provided that you come out feeling that you got so much more from the Museum.

However, there is so much more than explanations about different types of languages and writing skills.

Perfectly restored the section of The House to the way it used to look 200 years ago, and that is extremely interesting, but also added sections about modern Art in Puebla

Please note where it’s closed on Tuesdays, and it only opens at 10. I still managed to squeeze one hour on Wednesday morning as soon as it opened, and I’m so happy that I did it."

"Free entry on Sundays.
Terrace/ rooftop cafe is always free to go up.
It's one of my favourite museums in Mexico so far!
I always had hard time understanding the art and history of Mexico because I never learned its history.
Museo Amparo explains from terminology of historic era to details of culture, people, agriculture, art and so on in easy and simple ways! (Mostly in Spanish, I used google translator).
I learned so much today.
The staff there are 10/10 too.
Very professional and friendly.
They offer a clay making class for free, there's schedule for it.
I enjoyed contemporary art sections as well.
Terrace area is good for afternoon coffee or study.
It's a must visit if you're in Puebla."

Sophie

"This museum has rotating exhibits, and is well worth the cost of entry. The museum café, on the top floor has truly delicious mojitos and Guava mouse (like a cheesecake). Sit outside on the terrace for an amazing view and interesting surroundings."
