Reviews Summary

La Saladita offers beautiful natural scenery and incredible long waves, but recent visitors note it has become increasingly crowded and touristy. Some guests have also reported issues with accommodation quality and aggressive behavior from certain surf instructors, impacting the overall experience. Reddit

"Playa Saladita still has natural beauty and some of the most amazing sunsets anywhere but it’s gotten dirtier and far more crowded over the years. Too crowded. Too touristy. Too American for me. And the wave is mostly a close-out. I counted 226 surfers on it in one session. All closeouts."

Nelson Wells

"There's a 10ft Croc currently living in the creek near the river. Do not swim at night. Avoid the creek and river."

"This place would be amazing if it weren’t for the incredibly hostile and violent surf instructors. One literally hit my friend in the arm with his board because his 8 year old son was surfing in the general area of the 12 surf lessons that were taking up the entire line up. They were screaming and cussing at an 8 year old boy about respect after physically assaulting his father.

It was outrageous and unacceptable. The surf school owners and the business owners that want folks coming back to this spot need to speak with these instructors about the reputation they are creating at this wave and the ramifications that will have on the business owners in this area that rely on surfers coming to have a good time."
