What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mascota is lauded for its authentic, tranquil atmosphere and beautiful Spanish colonial architecture, offering a genuine taste of Mexico away from tourist crowds. Visitors appreciate its walkability and the scenic, albeit sometimes challenging, drive. While some find the local tours basic, they provide access to unique natural attractions.
"Beautiful city with a history. Built with Spanish style from when the Spanish occupied Mexico in the 1600's. Of course it has greatly increased in size since then. Very walkable, wide sidewalks. Main streets have concrete paths in the cobblestone to make driving easier. They have a beautiful museum here, unfortunately for us it was Tuesday... CLOSED. Everyone seemed very friendly. We just visited for the day, but you really need more than one day here."

"It's an amazing drive there. A bit daunting at times and watch for cows in the road! The town itself is lovely. They've kept the businesses from ruining the fronts of the buildings with signs so you'd almost miss some shops.
Great for walking around. Lots of picturesque spots. Friendly people. A perfect road trip from Puerto Vallarta area."

"Really nice town. Lots of things to see and there is a tour that will take you around the area. You have to find them at the 147 Ramon Corona in the big colorful corner house. The tour will give you some lunch, will take you to a volcan, some falls and give you lunch. This tour is a local tour so very no frills. Keep in mind is not a first wold tour."
