What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Museo del Estado de Michoacán for its free admission and diverse, interesting exhibitions, particularly the mask and pharmacy displays. The beautiful historic building is also a significant draw. Some reviewers noted a lack of English descriptions and a desire for more historical context on certain topics, but overall, it's highly recommended for a cultural immersion.
"I love a Mexican state museum; it's always a mixed bag of what you're going to get. Well, here you get a pharmacy exhibition, a textile exhibition, and a mask exhibition. The masks were the most interesting and the man who gave a full talk on it was very informative.
I knocked a star off because I felt that it was lacking a little bit. One room was closed and I would have liked to see some information about the state's part in the Mexican revolution which you do find in most regional museums. But that's just my preference so don't let it put you off. Anyway, nothing is lost in visiting because entry is free!"

"Interesting exhibition - from Mier Pharmacy on the ground floor, to the block printing & mask exhibition on the second floor.
Staff are friendly & it’s free admission. There are lots to see here and I enjoyed it thoroughly (despite not understanding the Spanish descriptions 🙈), highly recommended!"
