What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Carrizalillo Beach is a stunning destination praised for its beautiful scenery and calm waters, perfect for swimming and beginner surf lessons. Visitors love the delicious food at the beachfront restaurants and the overall relaxed vibe. However, the steep, numerous stairs are a significant challenge for some, and it can get quite crowded, especially during peak times.
"Beautiful beach to go visit and spend some hours at. The stairs are brutal but well worth it. The little restaurants rent out shaded seating or you can just set up on the beach. If you take your own drinks and food you can only set up on the beach."

"This was the place where we had the best food during our trip. Just a heads-up: make sure to bring cash, as most vendors don’t accept cards. However, if you go straight to the spot on the right-hand side, near the end, they do accept transfers and even card payments — which made it much easier for us to enjoy more and leave a proper tip.
I highly recommend the shrimp and octopus cocktail — absolutely delicious!
I don’t recommend the aguachile, though — it wasn’t great.
The corkage fee is 100 pesos, so we brought our own mezcal and enjoyed it with our meal.
The beach isn’t ideal for swimming, but it’s perfect for taking surf lessons and spending a fun afternoon by the sea. The kitchen closes at 5 PM, so plan accordingly.
There’s also a strong lifeguard presence, which made us feel very safe while watching our kids surfing in the ocean — definitely appreciated."

"It’s a very beautiful beach! Lots of stairs to climb, so be prepared for a workout. It’s also very busy, so if you’re looking for a quiet peaceful beach this is not for you. Lots of kids and families, because the water in nice and calm, waves aren’t too big"
