What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Presa del Obraje for its beautiful, serene reservoir and the stunning natural landscapes it offers. Many enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, ideal for photography and countryside exploration, with some highlighting the unique access points and nearby luxury accommodations. However, direct public access to the dam itself can be limited, and some visitors note the need for adventurous routes or reliance on private properties for the best views.
"This is a very beautiful presa (resorvoir) at the bottom of a canyon that originates at El Charco del Ingeneo. There are private homes and hotel surrounding it, and I suppose access is possible from those places, although not practical for the average visitor. I accessed it via a circuitous route beginning on the Reserva side of El Charco, crossing the dam, heading west on the border trail, and finding a very small, unmarked foot path on the left just before the trail turns back from the east. At the end of that foot path is a road which is part of an abandoned subdivision. From there, I turned left and walked on the road. Where the road curves, and on the left, is a rocky ledge where a great view of it can be had. For the adventurous, another, somewhat difficult foot path leads down to the presa."
