"This place is a gem. It’s a low key market with artisanal pieces from local artists, each of them with their own style - very fairly priced.
I appreciated seeing a variety of pieces (vs the same standardized ones in the touristy shops of the Oaxaca center), and they packed them well for us so they travel safely.
I would recommend taking a taxi from Oaxaca, since it’s much quicker than a colectivo."

"MAJOR WARNING The lead claims are 100% true, i read those reviews prior to my trip there, i was conflicted after reading another reviewer claim those aren't all true, we purchased around 10 pieces of pottery, green, orange, and black.
All of the green / orange pottery has lead in it, i thank the original reviewers for warning us, because 100% me and my family would've used them without second thought.
This is an amazing market, with amazing pieces, and i hate to be the gringo harming that reputation, but health is nothing to play with. The owners and quite frankly the local governments need to address this ASAP."
