"Truly Magical! Almost like a movie - inside the sanctuary beyond doors your eyes will see a visual explosion of the most majestic faith and religous sight — every wall, ceiling, and corner narrates the passion of christ. From floor to vaulted ceiling, the sanctuary is filled with intense religious imagery — angels, demons, indigenous motifs, poetic verses, and sculptural illusions that blur the line between painting and architecture. Far beyond a church, it is a sacriligious pilgrimage. I sadly arrived when mass was over, try to arrive before 10:00 am and consider paying extra if you are with a driver to go back since there's no public transportation. There must of been a holy celebration as I was given yummy and authentic sweet and spicy mole with garbanzos and juice in a bag and straw (Yes - very Mexican)
I truly recommend visiting this once in a lifetime site!"
