What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tankah Bay is lauded for its stunning, seaweed-free ocean cove and charming private cenote, offering a peaceful escape. Visitors appreciate the ample sunbeds and the option for more luxurious rentals. While food options are somewhat limited, the natural beauty and clean waters make it a highly recommended spot for relaxation.
"The concierge of the year, Ricardo at the Tulum Conrad hotel had suggested this spot. Well advised and what a gem. Private beach with tons of sunbeds. There's a real private cenote tucked away and an incredible ocean cove spot that runs up against the beach. Awesome and well maintained!!"
Tim Moon
"We visited Caleta Tankah based on a recommendation from a local cooking class we took in Tulum—and we’re so glad we did! This was the perfect spot to relax and swim during the summer without worrying about the sargassum (seaweed) that’s so common in the area.
One huge perk: if you visit right after the Tulum ruins (as we did), keep your entry wristband from the Mexican Park system—it gave us a discount on admission here since it’s part of the same network. Definitely hang on to those wristbands if you’re visiting multiple parks on the same day!
The beach area is beautiful, and the small protected caleta (inlet) lets you swim in clear ocean water without any seaweed, thanks to the natural rock barrier. There are free lounge chairs, food and drink service, and even larger beds available for rent if you want to really stretch out and relax.
There’s also a small cenote between the entrance and the beach—a unique and refreshing bonus swim spot. Caleta Tankah gave us a peaceful, clean, and fun beach experience. We would absolutely return!"

"Incredible little bay just outside of Tulum! Would highly recommend the sea area and beach is almost perfection. All elements of the besch club are awesome, although the food options are limited and still tasty!"
