Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the exceptional instruction quality and safety focus at paragliding schools like Flumen, highlighting Marko and Camila as outstanding teachers. The flying sites, particularly El Peñón, are lauded for their suitability for learning and diverse conditions. While the experience is overwhelmingly positive, some mention that the courses go by too quickly, leaving them wanting more time in the air.
"I really enjoyed the combined A1 & A2 course I did with Flumen paragliding in November 2025.
The tuition - both theory and practical - was accessible, thorough and engaging. This was my first time paragliding, but other students found the tuition to be of higher quality than that of comparable courses they had done. It was easy to believe this was the case.
The founder and lead instructor, Marko, is a very experienced pilot and a good teacher. It is clear that he is highly respected by other pilots for his knowledge, as much as for his skills. I felt safe in the knowledge that he was responsible for our safety (in which respect he is stern but fair) and that he really wanted us to learn and to succeed.
Our assistant instructors, Christian and Camila, were adept at observing us in practice: spotting and correcting our mistakes and giving personalised advice.
They were also great fun! The whole teaching team get along well together, which created a nice atmosphere for the student group (eight of us) to bond.
As a beginner there is plenty of downtime between the flights in the morning and the afternoon, when conditions are easiest. This was spent either at the landing zone (complete with two very good and inexpensive canteen/restaurants, plus stunning views of the El Penon rock and the launch site) or in the classroom, conveniently located en route to the launch site, and about 30 minutes drive from Valle de Bravo where we stayed.
If anyone is reading this while trying to choose a paragliding school: I don't think you can go wrong with Flumen."

"Flumen paragliding SIV in Yelapa, was one of the very best and most valuable PG training experiences that I’ve had in my 10 year career It was my second SIV. The first was fantastic. Marko took it to the next level, even beyond being a master certified APPI instructor. The study booklet of all the maneuvers, video analysis, and video debrief from drone and long range lens camera solidified what I was learning. Marko’s preparation and coaching honestly prepared me beyond what I was expecting for what I may encounter in free flight. On the flight home, I flipped through the booklet like flashcards. I couldn’t believe how quickly I could visualize each maneuver, what to do and what not to do. I will be returning no doubt. Thank you, Marko and Camila! 🙏🏼 AND Yelapa was a low-key non-touristy And relaxing little town. Great food, wonderful people beach, and the headquarters for the SIV are right next to some great beach restaurants. There’s even an opportunity for ridge beach soaring in between towes!"

"Absolutely the best place to learn how to paraglide. I did my A1/A2 course with Flumen and immediately signed up to do the A3 two weeks later. Marko and Camilla are amazing teachers and El Peñon is one of the best sites to learn how to fly. You get an immense amount of theory, coaching and practice time for everything from short top-down flights to 1-2hr flights of thermaling and ridge soaring. I came away from this not just with a new confidence in flying, but also a lot of understanding around weather systems, lift, active piloting and collapses (and how to counter them). There is a significant difference watching Marko's students and other schools.
I can not recommend Flumen enough, and I'd trust Marko & Camilla to teach my friends and family. If you're coming to Mexico to learn to fly, then Flumen is the way to go. If you're debating between the US P1/P2 vs the A1-A3, go with Flumen because you will learn so much more and be set up to really become a pilot. Also, Valle de Bravo is a great (and inexpensive) town to stay at and who doesn't love a week of sunshine and tacos (among many other great food options in the area)"
