What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Casa de Artes José Gorostiza is praised for its professional and affordable arts education, with a wide range of classes and dedicated teachers. However, some visitors note that the facilities, particularly bathrooms and air conditioning, are in poor condition and require investment.
"TERRIBLE
I enrolled my 7-year-old son in classes, and the teacher is very friendly. However, the facilities are in poor condition, the bathrooms are rundown, and the air conditioning in the classrooms doesn't work. During very hot weather, it's not appropriate to teach classes like this, and no one cares. They charge registration fees that are never used.
They hold meetings that end in nothing, and the ones who end up paying everything out of their own pockets are the parents. They make them quote and pay for repairs, cooperating when it's something the institution should be fixing. Apparently, that's their modus operandi. Sad because there are good teachers."
María Guadalupe Martínez Arcos
"More investment in parking, facilities... and more teachers dedicated to children..."
Oscar Focil Perez
"It has very good teachers, its facilities are very good, they have everything necessary for good learning of the arts."

Tailored advice for your travel style

💰 Budget Travelers

Deep Dives
In-depth insights and expert knowledge
Arts Education at its Core
Despite the positive feedback on the quality of teachers and the range of subjects, some visitors have pointed out that the institution relies on parents to fund repairs, which can be a point of contention. This suggests a need for greater institutional investment to maintain and improve the facilities, ensuring a more comfortable learning environment for students and a better experience for all attendees.
A Venue for Cultural Events
These events are often promoted as opportunities for the community to engage with the arts, with some performances even offering free admission, further enhancing accessibility. Visitors interested in experiencing the local arts scene should definitely check the center's schedule for any ongoing or upcoming events during their visit to Villahermosa.
Navigating Facility Conditions
Furthermore, there's a recurring theme in reviews about the institution's reliance on parents for funding repairs, suggesting that essential maintenance and upgrades might be slow to materialize. This can lead to a less-than-ideal environment for both students and event attendees. Travelers should be aware of these potential issues and manage their expectations regarding the overall condition of the infrastructure.
