What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Zipolite is praised for its breathtaking natural beauty, relaxed atmosphere, and liberating nude beach experience. Visitors love the bohemian vibe and the stunning sunsets. However, the powerful ocean currents make swimming risky, and some find the beachfront restaurants overpriced.
"Zipolite is a breathtaking destination! The beach’s raw, natural beauty is unmatched, and its laid-back atmosphere makes it a paradise for those craving freedom and a deep connection with nature. While the powerful waves and strong rip currents make swimming risky, you can safely wade up to your knees to cool off and enjoy the ocean’s refreshing embrace. As Mexico’s only official nude beach, Zipolite offers a truly unique experience—embracing the clothing-optional vibe in such a welcoming and open-minded setting is both liberating and unforgettable. It’s the perfect place to relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy the bohemian energy.
Important Note: Be cautious with food and water—many visitors, myself included, experienced stomach issues and I am still recovering from post Giardia IBS that I picked up in Mexico. Stick to bottled water for drinking and even for brushing your teeth to try to avoid getting sick."

"Really love this beach! It is long with soft sand and tons of restaurants and hotels along the beach. It reminded me a bit of parts of south east Asia. The waves can be quite big and kids can only play in the shallows."

"I love and also hate this beach.
The sand has many rocks that will hurt you if you get in the water. The rocks get tossed and shred your skin. There’s often riptides. The currents go in every direction. I visited in May. I would not recommend swimming or learning to surf here.
However, it’s a beautiful sunset and one of the greatest nude beaches. The beach is totally a vibe to relax and LGTB Friendly.
The restaurant on the beach are generally overpriced without the quality."
