What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tsetsee Gun Peak offers a rewarding, albeit challenging, hiking experience with stunning panoramic views of Ulaanbaatar. Hikers praise the natural beauty and the sense of accomplishment, but caution is advised regarding trail conditions, which can be difficult due to fallen trees and mud, especially after bad weather. Some visitors also note the potential for encountering wildlife.
"Started from the south side and hiked up to the peak. Unfortunately for us, bad weather came by few days earlier and many pine trees were uprooted. Our entire hike was all about climbing over or under fallen tree trunks, navigating thru countless water streams, mud and some rocky section. Slippery and technical. Our local guide rated our route as 3.5/5 in terms of difficulty level. Our hike was about 13km and 578m elevation gain."

"Great hiking trail. It takes 5-6 hours both ways from the entrance to the peak and vice versa. The trail is not clear so you need to follow the yellow/red marks on the trees. In some places it is difficult to find a way because there are a lot of fallen trees. If you go alone take in mind there are wolves in the area. In the peak area there is a great view, almost 360 views. Depending on the season of the year the trail can be flooded."

"Nice place, there is a lot of markers so you will not be lost. Very beautiful views. But at winter it's very cold."
