What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the absolutely stunning, breathtaking views from Kotor Fortress, calling the climb an unforgettable adventure. While the ascent is strenuous and can be risky with steep, uneven steps, the panoramic vistas of Kotor Bay and the Old Town are widely considered worth the effort. Some note the ruins are basic, and the fee could improve upkeep, but the overall experience is highly recommended.
"The views from the top were absolutely stunning. The climb on the other hand is not for the faint of heart. It includes steep stairs, slippery stones, no railing and deep abysses. Truly an adventure but a bit risky too. Also a bit pricy with a fee of 15€ (July 2025), but I didn't regret it considering the view (Maybe the fee could be used for better upkeeping?!). Would do it again."

"The hike is a bit tiring, especially in the sun, but the view from the top is really beautiful and totally worth it. You can see the whole bay and the rooftops of Kotor, it feels peaceful and magical up there.
On the way up, there are old walls and little ruins that make it feel like you’re climbing through history. The path is mostly stone, so good shoes help.
I’d recommend going early in the morning or before sunset when it’s not too hot. Don’t forget water!"
