Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Morača Monastery for its stunning, well-preserved frescoes and the profound sense of peace found within its grounds. The well-kept courtyard and natural surroundings are highlighted as particularly beautiful. However, some note the small size of the monastery and the strict dress code, which requires covering shoulders and knees, can be a point of contention for unprepared visitors.

"This is a very peaceful and beautiful place. We visited the monastery in good weather and first we got amazed by the beautiful road leading there from Podgorica. When we get to the monastery we had a very strong wish to stay for longer instead of just watching, taking photos and leaving. The monastery itself is a great example of the medieval architecture and style (the monastery here was founded in the 13th century, but was later burnt down by ottomans and partially rebuilt in the 16th). It contains beautiful frescoes from the 13th century. The monastery is just by the main road, so it's not hard to visit it."

Artemiy Kovalenko

"Interesting place to visit, we stayed only 29 minutes as it's quite small but very peaceful. Can be done at the end of a nice hike next to the moraca river"

Maxime Doucet

"Gorgeous place, very beautiful and spiritual monastery, there is a playground and canteen where you can get basic beverages and snacks, more than friendly prices."
