What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Karver Bookstore Vault is celebrated for its unique atmosphere as a cafe and bookstore within a historic Hamam, offering a charming escape by the river. Visitors praise the knowledgeable owner and the cozy, multi-level space. However, some reviews mention inconsistent service and occasional issues with drink orders or ingredient freshness.
"One star. The place under the bridge may look artistic, but that’s where the positives end. Tried to order a tea from the menu—was told it wasn’t available, picked another, and still got something entirely different. To top it off, the lemon wedge in the tea was brown and clearly rotten. Disappointing service and poor attention to detail."

"Charming cafe and bookstore based in what used to be a Hamam. Lovely owner bursting with passion for culture and very knowledgeable about the region. Beautiful spot for an afternoon coffee!"

"It's definately a place that deserves more visitors than it had in January when we visited it. The cappuccino is ultra strong (for my taste), small and relatively cheap. The staff is very friendly and is eager to tell the story of the building (former Turkish bath house, located at a river under a bridge). Inside you can find a book store with books written in the local language and an interesting selection of English books, as well as a cozy cafe on 3 floors. The highest floor has the best view ;)"
