What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Art Naji is lauded for its exceptional quality ceramics and the fascinating insight into traditional Moroccan craftsmanship. Visitors appreciate seeing artisans at work and the beautiful, unique pieces available. However, some find the sales pressure from staff to be overwhelming, and prices are considerably higher than in the Fes medina.
"Workshop where fine pottery and tile work is produced. There is no doubting the quality of the craftsmanship. Pieces are for sale, with some limited scope for bargaining."
David Smith
"Loved the tour. You see some craftsmen at work. The guys up front try to have a chat with you and expect a tip for that (bit over the top if you ask me).
The pieces they sell are beautiful and can be shipped to your home country. But they are very expensive compared to the ones offered in the medina. One platter (a round one with a ~ 25cm diameter) in particular that we loved was very expensive. 1400 dirham! In the streets of Fes they are being priced at a tenth of that amount. But the difference has to be in the quality right…
Even one of those small cute tajines was priced at 180 a piece while those in the medina are priced at 20 dirham a piece. Still well worth a visit but be prepared to spend some cash (card payments available too, there also is an ATM on site)!"
Nick
"Great place to learn more about pottery in the history and art of living of the people of Morocco.
The tour guide is very kind, well spoken and you can tell all the work that goes into making beautiful pieces, just look at their riads. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
There is also a souvenir shop which is quite expensive but has unique pieces.... some you can order.
I recommend ohhhhh"
