What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Oualidia Lagoon is praised for its stunning natural beauty and delicious, fresh seafood. Visitors love the breathtaking views and tranquil atmosphere. However, many reviews point out issues with accommodation maintenance, cleanliness, and a lack of reliable Wi-Fi, alongside the prevalence of stairs and high dining costs.
"One of the best locations, the parking garage is small, the swimming pool in front of a restaurant is a VERY BAD IDEA.. you swim and people in the restaurant sitting and watching you like an aquarium.. instead of investing on more loungers there are just 10 loungers (one of them is broken) that people run to reserve while ppl in the restaurant are still sitting and watching you like AGT judges…other swimming pools are for children.. be prepared for ALOT OF STAIRS.. the GYM is no longer available… overpriced because of the location and nothing else. It has a beautiful view, the greenery everywhere. No wifi available in the houses."

The Allure of Oualidia Lagoon
Visitors often praise the breathtaking views and the serene atmosphere. However, it's important to note that the infrastructure, particularly in rental accommodations, can sometimes be lacking. Many reviews mention issues with maintenance, cleanliness, and the availability of amenities like Wi-Fi. The landscape also involves a significant number of stairs due to its hilly terrain, which is a crucial factor for visitors to consider.
Despite these challenges, the fresh seafood is consistently highlighted as a major positive. The opportunity to dine on oysters and fish caught just hours before is a unique experience. For those seeking natural beauty and a peaceful coastal retreat, Oualidia Lagoon remains a compelling destination, provided visitors manage their expectations regarding amenities and upkeep.
Navigating Oualidia: Accommodation & Amenities
Furthermore, the maintenance and amenities in some accommodations can be inconsistent. Reports of dirty kitchens, spider infestations, and a lack of reliable Wi-Fi are not uncommon. While the location and views are often lauded, the upkeep of the properties themselves can detract from the overall experience. It's advisable to thoroughly check recent reviews for specific properties and perhaps even contact the owners directly to inquire about current conditions and available facilities before booking.
Despite these potential drawbacks, the charm of Oualidia lies in its natural setting. The focus is often on enjoying the lagoon, the beaches, and the local cuisine rather than on luxurious amenities. If you prioritize stunning natural scenery and a taste of authentic coastal life, and are prepared for the practicalities of the terrain and potential upkeep issues, Oualidia can still offer a memorable stay.
