"Kaura dance is the main original dance of the Magar community. It is believed that the origin of Kaura is from the word 'Kan-Raha' of the Magar language. 'Kan-raha' means 'we have come'. While going to have fun in Rodidhar, uncle says 'Kan-raha' to his niece, meaning 'we have come' . Kaura is a popular dance not only among the Magars but also among the Gurung, Dura, Darai etc. communities living in the Gandaki region.
