What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Spiegelgracht as one of Amsterdam's most charming and picturesque spots, highlighting its beautiful canal houses, captivating reflections, and vibrant atmosphere. It's particularly beloved during the Christmas season for its magical lights. Some note the busy bike lanes as a point of caution.
"Tucked beside the Rijksmuseum, the Spiegelgracht Canal feels like a living postcard of Amsterdam. Reflections of narrow houses ripple in the water as cyclists breeze past with effortless grace. The street hums with life — artists, travelers, and locals all sharing the same rhythm. Boutique galleries and cozy cafés spill their charm along the canal, making it an irresistible stop for anyone wandering through the city."

"The Spiegelgracht Canal near the Rijksmuseum is one of my absolute favorite places and easily one of the most charming and picturesque spots in Amsterdam! Lined with narrow canal houses, antique shops, and art galleries, this area beautifully captures the essence of the city. The reflections of the row houses and trees in the canal are breathtaking, especially in early spring when the fresh green leaves start to appear. Bicycles whiz by, and you can feel the vibrant energy of both locals and tourists (or enjoy a laugh watching tourists step into the bike lane and nearly get run over!). In winter, holiday lights glow in the trees along the canal, creating a magical atmosphere—just another reason why this is one of my favorite spots and why you have to come back during the holiday season!"
