This month, we commemorate Operation Market Garden in my home town Arnhem. 75 years ago, 35,000 British and Polish paratroopers were dropped behind enemy lines to end the war in 1944. While outnumbered 2:1, they held the Arnhem bridge twice as long as expected before capitulating. Thousands died.
