@vrijheidsmuseum Groesbeek, nice little museum on a really historical Location! The only thing for me is. that we dont see enough Market Garden related displays. They will give you a great overview of the whole war, but every museum does that.. It would be awesome if they would zoom in on their own location. Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Vrijheidsmuseum for its deeply immersive and personal approach to WWII history, highlighting the impactful air raid shelter simulation and engaging character narratives. The museum is lauded for balancing education with emotion, making history feel real and thought-provoking. While some wish for more specific focus on Operation Market Garden, the overall experience is highly recommended for its unique perspective and excellent guides.

"The Freedom Museum in Groesbeek is a deeply immersive experience that goes beyond just dates and facts. From interactive screens introducing you to diverse fictional characters, to ethical dilemmas that put you in the shoes of people during WWII, it makes history feel personal and real.

The museum balances education and emotion beautifully — from understanding the complexities of human choices under extreme circumstances, to confronting the sheer scale of war and its impact on civilians. The air raid shelter simulation and strategic military operation setups are impressive, and the reflections on peace at the end leave a lasting impact.

Whether you’re a history buff or just curious about the human stories behind WWII, this museum will make you think, feel, and reflect. Highly recommended for an eye-opening and thought-provoking visit."

"I visited in September 2025 as part of a motorcycle trip from the UK. The museum is easy to access and parking was excellent. The cloakroom facility to hang up my heavy jacket was useful too. I paid to enter on the day, and early afternoon on a weekday it was nice and quiet...school holidays may be different. The museum itself was very interesting with plenty to see and both historical and modern exhibits. There was a bit of exploration of the moral dilemmas faced by the Dutch people during occupation, and this was an eye opener. I tried the cafe / restaurant and had a coffee and a toasted sandwich. It was all reasonably priced and came in for me at just under £18 to enter and just under £9 for my food and coffee in UK money. Definitely worth a visit for anyone interested in WW2."
