To keep things dry, a roof was constructed in 1825, rendering this bridge not only unique but also the oldest covered bridge. Wheat was also stored under the roof. The atmosphere was pleasant. During our visit to Leiden, we observed many people coming here and utilizing this place as a meeting point."
