Tips for 2 days in Middelburg, Zeeland.
Hi, I'm 31 M from France. A friend of mine is going to Middelburg this month for a business trip and asked me to join. I've been to the Netherlands before but never there. I looked a bit online and the city looks pretty but I'm not sure if there is any place in particular worth…

Which places in Zeeland are definitely worth visiting?
I’m currently planning a trip for the end of october. I haven’t settled on a location yet, but Sluis seems to be a quaint, cosy town that’s worth visiting. Are there any other places in Zeeland that are worth visiting? I’m talking museums, monuments, stores, parks, restaurants,…
Planning an 11-day trip in Netherlands, can I have some feedback on this route? I want to see more of Zeeland and the coast, while hitting the big cities in the Raanstad as well as Flevoland. Any changes I should make or things to pay attention to?
This route looks good. I’ll give you a few options to consider though. Middelburg is a great town, suggest to take half a day to check it out before departing. Before Rotterdam, see if you can make a detour and go through the Biesbosch (nature park). Pass by Volendam after…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally appreciate the Zeeuws Museum's diverse offerings, from impressive historical tapestries and traditional costumes to engaging contemporary art and unique 'wonder rooms'. The beautiful historic building and friendly welcome are often highlighted. However, some feel the museum could benefit from more exhibits specifically focused on Zeeland's local history and customs, and clearer labeling in certain sections.
"It was a mixed exhibition, with each floor dedicated to a particular exhibition. The first and second floors were a little smaller and therefore had smaller exhibitions, the first floor was modern art/fashion themed, the second was temporary exhibition detailing slavery and its impact. The third floor concerned history of the region, I particularly liked the room with several large tapestries detailing sea battles with the spanish. The top floor was actually the most interesting with several 'wonder rooms' an older concept where people would collect art and oddities and display it in a single room. The floor had been divided into four of such wonder rooms with art on the outside 'walls' of these rooms and eclectic collections of items inside."

"The one to visit while on Middelbourg. Friendly welcome. Lot of didactics and regular thematic exhibitions."

"Highlights: paintings, a tapestry collection, Roman artifacts, Spanish helmets and weapons, ancient animal bones. More local exhibits would be appreciated, as many of the objects come from China, Indonesia, and other countries which has little to do with Zealand. The museum is missing the identity. More information about Zealand's history, key historical facts, its talented inhabitants, folklore, customs, landscape, etc. Areas for improvement: a description was missing next to the jewelry section, some labels were difficult to read due to poor placement (for example, in the room with the cow skull on the right and where the paintings of Middelburg were presented). More national costumes and household items should be added. An audioguide would be nice to have."
