Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Naarden Vesting's unique star-shaped fortifications and its excellent state of preservation, calling it a picturesque and historically significant destination. Many appreciate its proximity to Amsterdam and the opportunity to step back in time. Some note that while the town itself is charming, the main draw is the impressive fortress structure.

"This place is beautiful and serene. I am writing this review only of the vesting musem. There are other places to visit nearby as well like the nature palk path through the woods where you can walk or cycle. There is also the majestic city gate nearby.

The musem is very well maintained and provides you witha detailed insight about the fortress, it's design, defense mechanisms and history. This place is not very crowded and i visited during a weekend. The city is also very beautiful and serene. This definitely a great weekend hangout and not very far from Amsterdam."

"This historical star-shaped city is proof that Dutch people are intelligent. I've seen videos and photos of this city from above and it amazed me. Never did I know that setting foot on it is much more fulfilling."

Siki BOOM

"The best preserved fortified city in Netherlands. You can learn a lot about Dutch water management work by visiting here. There are biat rides also which take you along the canals of the outskirts of the Fort. A nice experience for kids as well."
