Can you imagine how charming? A museum village in this small Dutch town in Drenthe province, close to the artists village in Dwingeloo where our friends live! It is declared a protected area. There are historical farms and barns, a saw mill, a pottery workshop, a blacksmith and a wooden shoe maker. There is a horse tram since no vehicles are allowed to enter. We walked from a designated parking ...

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A really lovely experience. The village itself feels like an open-air museum, with a charming atmosphere and beautifully preserved buildings. There’s a scenic nature trail that makes for a peaceful walk, and it’s especially great for kids – lots of open space, animals, and things to explore.

The old farm was a highlight, and seeing the sheep up close added to the rural charm. Everything is well maintained, and the staff were kind and welcoming. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a relaxing and educational day out in the Netherlands!"

"A nice place to stroll around but of the attractions that were open, there wasn't much to entertain the children other than a small play area. We spent a couple of hours here which was more than enough. Beware if you are visiting from the UK that Mastercard is not accepted in most of the shops - have some cash with you."

"Nice place to visit if you wanna see how life is a few centuries ago ."
