Auckland is a great city but it seems like it desperately wants to be just like Sydney. If you look at all the similarities it's kind of creepy 😬😄

"Mangauika / North Head is an extinct volcano that erupted thousands of years ago and is part of Auckland Volcanic Fields. An ancestral mountain for Maori iwis in Auckland. The New Zealand Army used this volcano as a fortification with batteries scattered throughout the mountain.

Access to Mangauika is quite easy with a car park up to the slopes of the volcano. Then the hike is quite easy and not steep at all. By walking, its also easily accessible from Cheltenham Beach.

Accessing the fortifications are quite easy and there are a lot of information provided regarding the history of the volcano and the fortifications of it."
