"Perfect beach to go shell hunting. Walk up and down in search for the beautiful coloured shells available. The beach is quite calm and not a surf beach. Lovely walkway to go from Brophy's Beach all the way into Whitianga - super handy when the tide is up and you don't want to walk on the sand/water. Little shade available - only a smattering of palm trees along the reserve. There is also Tupuatapuatea Stream (a creek really) that runs alongside the beach for a bit then into the sea."
