"Beautifully presented gardens with a lovely cafe next to the information centre which also has a gift shop.
There is also a wonderful playground with a pool in the summer for the young ones.
When we went in Sept 25, the Cuningham House (tropical conservatory) was currently closed for heritage restoration.
Highly recommend visiting.
Please note it is pay parking."

"Soft blossoms drift, a gentle snow,
The boulevard of Yoshino cherry blossoms glow.
Pink clouds alight on arching boughs,
A fragrant silence settles now.

Each petal holds the morning's light,
A fleeting, glorious, pure white.
The path below, a carpet deep,
Where whispered secrets drift and sleep.

A perfect arch of living lace,
Transforms this time, this walking space.
The air is sweet with promised spring,
And all the joy the blossoms bring."

"We spent about 3 hours at Hagley Park/Christchurch Botanic Gardens before heading to the airport. It was lovely, we could have stayed there a lot longer if we had the time. It covers a big area so there was so much to see, not to mention how peaceful it was. I would definitely go back the next time I go to Christchurch."
