Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Gisborne Farmers Market for its warm, lively atmosphere, fresh produce, and friendly vendors. The live music adds to the enjoyable community vibe. While generally well-priced, some find a few items a bit expensive compared to other stalls.

"I visited the Gisborne Farmers’ Market today and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was warm and lively — great music, friendly locals, and the smell of fresh coffee everywhere. There was a fantastic range of stalls with fresh fruit, vegetables, honey, baked goods, and handmade treats. Everything looked so fresh and full of flavour.

The stall owners were really kind and happy to chat about their products, which made the whole experience feel personal and community-driven. Prices were reasonable, and I could really see the quality difference compared to supermarket produce.

It’s not a huge market, but it’s full of character and positive energy. A perfect Saturday morning spot in Gisborne — grab a coffee, try some local food, and enjoy the vibe. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in town! 🌿🍯☕"

"We decided that this year we would shop local again for our fruit&vege as a monthly thing. The family made a special visit to Gisborne to see what their market was like. I liked that they had an official open time that made it fair for all. We bought a bunch of vegetables and other goods plus I got some new fruit trees and some flowers for my 5 yo to nurture. I would say that things are scattered across the spectrum of quality and cost. There were some well priced fruit&vege but also some that were overpriced in comparison to the other stalls. We were introduced to a type of pumpkin we hadn't tried before.. Life changing. I would say I was surprised at how small it was but given the space allotment it made sense. Overall it was a good experience, we'll probably just stick to ordering online local unless we want to make a day of it which we did in this instance."
