What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning beauty of Monro Beach and the enchanting rainforest walk leading to it. The potential to spot rare penguins is a major highlight, though not guaranteed. Some mention sandflies and the need for protective clothing, but most agree the experience is well worth the effort.
"The walk to an absolutely beautiful beach with strong waves hitting the unique rock formations. One of my favorite places. This is a secluded spot. The feel of the mist from the waves is something else and the air is clear. There are sandflies that bite so I recommend long sleeves and long pants. The hike through woods to get to the beach is worth it and not too long and is mostly flat. Parking is tight if it is busy but otherwise not bad and room for campers and RVs. There is a toilet at the start of the trail."

"Very easy walk with mild escalation. The beginning is along the gravel road for cars, later it turn to the forest. You can make it in 30 minutes to the beach. A lot of sandflies, very humid but totally worth the visit."
Lenka Kristková
"90 minute round trip walk to the beach and back. There is also a cool suspension bridge to traverse. Sadly there were no penguins around when we visited. Wear some pants because the sand is infested with flies."
