What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally find the Kaikoura Farmers' Market a pleasant stop, particularly for its lavender products and serene atmosphere. While the gardens can be a highlight, some note they could benefit from tidying. The gift shop is praised for its affordable and quality lavender items, and the friendly resident dog often adds a charming touch. However, some past visitors have reported negative experiences with customer service regarding pre-booked activities.
"The garden area you can explore was smaller than we expected. It was also very overgrown and full of weeds. I was itching to get in there and tidy up. A good tidy and a weed would make the garden phenomenal. Took us all of 10 minutes to walk around and take some photos. The lavender is incredible. So many bees.
Good products in the gift shop, so I think it's worth the visit.
Would be so much better if it was tidied up."

"We went here on March 2020. I always love lavender and when I saw there was one in Kaikoura, I knew we had to visit. It turned out to be a great experience. Even though we didn't visit the garden because the staff told us there were no lavender bloom at that time but we still had a lovely time in the shop. Bought a huge bottle of lavender soap ( I didn't think too much about our luggage by then 😅 ) and essential oils. There were some beautiful lavender plants in front of the shop. The staff ( or owner I didn't know ) was very nice and friendly."

"The average rating sums it up - a 3.5 out of 5. Worth a visit if you're in the area. Appreciate the proprietor told us the lavender wasn't in bloom before paying the garden tour fee. Still pleasant to explore with affordable products in their gift shop."
