"Booked the non-refundable family ticket for $350. Weather was atrocious (pouring with rain, 5deg outside). I called beforehand as I expected the company would cancel due to weather but the tour was to continue with VR option and no option to cancel.
The room where the VR was played was cold and dark, uncomfortable chairs, tea and coffee available but no milk! The first 10 mins was a slide show quiz - felt like I was at a uni lecture. The VR show was mediocre - headset old but worked ok. The VR show went for about 30 mins - interesting content but nothing like the experience would be actually looking through telescopes.
Due to the pouring rain/5 deg we chose not to swim.
All in all very underwhelming especially considering the cost and inflexible cancellation policy. Save your money and go to the hot pools in Hanmer."
