"Stunning New Years Eve celebrations, great entertainment. Always a location that draws you back. Loads of history and Art Deco styled architecture in this whole location. Beautiful beach walks in both directions, stunning gardens that are beautifully maintained by our local council gardens.

"One of the interesting things to see along the Marina Parade is the historic Sound Shell, which was built after the famous earthquake in the early 1930s. Like much of Napier, this venue was designed in Art Deco style which was popular at the time.
Today, you can see the this lovely Art Deco structure along the promenade and image what it would be like to hear a performance here. In addition to the period architecture, there are some gorgeous flower beds set-up on the east side of the Sound Shell grounds that are worth seeing in the spring time.
For those who intend to spend time on the Marina Parade or walking around Napier to take in the many Art Deco buildings and structures, this will be one of the places you will want to include in your list of things to see/do in Napier. You can comfortably visit in just a few minutes.
