What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for campervan rentals in Christchurch are mixed. While some customers praise friendly service and well-maintained vehicles, others report issues with malfunctioning amenities, unexpected charges, and unresponsive customer support. The condition of the van, including scratches and the functionality of equipment like coolers and heaters, are common points of contention. Despite some negative experiences, many travelers still recommend campervan travel for its freedom and unique way to see New Zealand.
"It was the first time we used a camper. The camper didn't have any mechanical issues and the woman at the desk was friendly, but
- First We wanted to rent until jan 1st but on public holidays the office is closed. Therefore we rented until jan 2nd with pick up and return to airport. No one told us jan 2nd is a public holiday, so dec 30th we received a mail saving we should take care of transport to airport ourselves. This was unforeseen 100$ extra costs.
- the van was rather scratched on the outside
- the Kingsleeper is too low for me to sit straight up.
- the cooler did not work. She told us we should just buy ice regularly to keep our food cool 😒
So it was a rather dissapointing experience and it looked like they didn't really care."
