Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Mitai Maori Village for its authentic cultural immersion, captivating performances, and delicious Hangi dinner. The knowledgeable hosts and the magical glowworm walk are frequently highlighted as unforgettable aspects of the experience. While the large group sizes can be a surprise, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many calling it a highlight of their New Zealand trip.
"Reviewing as a whole experience. The host spoke very well and really explained a lot about the Maori culture. I really like the part where we walk in the dark to see the canoes. The greeting by the family and the show. It was the first time I tried a proper traditional hangi from a Maori village and there was a big spread of food. Out of them, I like the beef stew, mussels and the spinach.
We even got to see a lot of glowworms at the end of the experience.
Definitely a worthy experience."

"Unforgettable experience at Mitai Maori Village! You’re fully immersed into the appreciation of Maori culture.
When you arrive, you’re checked-in and told which table you’re sitting at. We were surprised to see about 20 tables in the venue! There ended up being almost 200 people there!
Our host was well-spoken, entertaining, and informative. The entire experience is about 3hrs. First there’s a talk with some information about Maori culture and you learn some Maori words. Then you’re taking through the forest on site to see a Maori boat and into a stage area to see various cultural dances and songs. It was wonderful!
The buffet dinner is fabulous, many people went up for seconds and thirds so there’s plenty to go around!! You can purchase sodas and alcoholic drinks at the bar, water is provided on the table.
We loved our experience here, however, we were a bit surprised to see almost 200 people there with us!! Definitely buy tickets in advance as it looks like it was fully booked."
