Reviews Summary
Visitors praise The Opera House Wellington for its intimate atmosphere, excellent acoustics, and historic charm, making it a great venue for comedy and other performances. However, some find the seats to be narrow and uncomfortable, particularly in the gallery, and note that the venue can be quite cold in winter. Accessibility to the gallery also presents a challenge for some.
"A good experience, as far as I could see, most seats had uninterrupted views, just the seats in the front row of the gallery had a metal lighting bar obstructing the view of the stage.
Wear plenty of warm clothes and a scarf in the winter, it is pretty cold even up in the gallery.
It is easy to hear, the acoustics are very good.
Like most public venues, there was long queues for the ladies toilets."

"Cool old venue, where any seat seems to be a great seat due to proximity to the stage. The dress circle first and second row are great seats! The seats are old school and a bit narrow, with just enough leg room.
Really good venue for comedy shows!"
Tamz Taumalolo
"Gallery seating are only slightly padded on top of hard wood. Be prepared for a numb bum unless you bring your own seat padding. Very low backs to seats. Seats do not fold - you will be expected to allow people really violate your personal space.
ACCESSIBILITY WARNING. 4 flights of stairs to climb. Very steep aisles, challenging for those that stuggle with steep steps and heights."
