What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Wentworth Valley Campground offers a serene natural escape with a beautiful waterfall walk and riverfront camping. While facilities are basic and some areas show signs of wear, visitors appreciate the dog-friendly policy, easy self-check-in, and the immersive rainforest experience. It's a place for those who prioritize nature over luxury amenities.
"First time visit, ?pre-busy season. Late November and only a few sites being used. The camp ground allows dogs but must be kept under control. A very relaxed booking and moving in process.
Facilities include; various running water taps (incl. a bank of 4 hand basins) - ensure water is boiled before consuming - 1 hot ($2 for about 3mins!!) & 1 cold water shower building, 2x 'press button' gas BBQ hot plates, several picnic tables, ?4 log drop toilets dotted around. (See pics). Main road/track thru is good in most places, but a few bumps.
Camping sites; loosely mown and marked out. Some large and open, some small nestled into bush/trees. Watch out for the drains! Powered sites are only close to the camp office.
The area seemed a bit run down by appearence of fixtures and the individual camp sites. (I suspect the bare minimum is being done each day - the place could do with some work). Uncut grass, downed trees and toilet chimneys awaiting repair/attention and signage could be better.
Foot track to waterfall is mostly graveled however there have been some sections washed out and would be very hard to get a outdoors pram further up the track. A good water hole 10mins from camp ground (take the Right hand trk)."

"Awesome location and host! Beautiful walk to the waterfall. We were here during winter so had the whole camping to ourselves and it was lovely to be able to enjoy a hot shower in the morning!"

"Fabulous campground in the rainforest with amazing hikes. There are long drop loos which were tolerable. The shower was fabulous super hot & fast flowing which cost $2 so take $2pieces with you . It was self check in which was easy enough . Great place if you like being in nature surrounded by birds communicating & greeted by ducks in the mornings ."
