What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Lekki Arts and Crafts Market as a vibrant hub of authentic Nigerian creativity, offering an incredible variety of handmade items from paintings to sculptures. The lively atmosphere and friendly, flexible artisans are frequently praised, though some note that prices can be high for foreigners and the roads leading to the market can be challenging.
"A vibrant hub of African creativity!
Visiting Lekki Art and Craft Market was a truly enriching experience. The market is filled with an incredible variety of handmade items—beautiful paintings, intricate beadwork, wood carvings, leather goods, traditional fabrics, and unique souvenirs you won’t find anywhere else.
Each stall showcases the talent and creativity of local artisans, and the sellers are usually open to friendly bargaining. The atmosphere is colorful, lively, and full of authentic African charm. Whether you’re a tourist looking for keepsakes or a local seeking unique home décor, this place is a treasure trove.
Do wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to explore narrow lanes. The market isn’t very polished, but that’s part of its raw appeal. I left with some amazing pieces and even better memories. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates arts and culture!"

"The best place to find locally-made art and vintage artifacts in Lagos. Could spend days going through all the shops and greeting the artisans.
It’s one of my favourite places in Lagos. I have found some of the most amazing vintage pieces and also the most beautiful handmade objects. Some of the pieces are created right in front of you.
The basket weavers will literally fix any of their products to your specifications or will scour the whole market trying to find exactly what you want.
The furniture makers are so good. From small carvings to large carved wall hangings and wardrobes and even bars the pieces are detailed and absolutely gorgeous.
The jewelry sellers have altered stuff for me like shortening necklaces and then taking the extra beads and making me bracelets out of them.
Then there are the paintings. So many! And so hard to choose from. And again, if you don’t find what you want, which seems impossible, the people there will figure out how to get you exactly what you want.
And hopefully you get to meet the glorious Madam ChiChi who sells beautiful vintage and traditional Nigerian artifacts. You will be instantly charmed by her. And her pieces will stun you. Just ask her to tell you the stories behind them, you’ll be happy you did.
Please don’t miss visiting this special place when you’re in Lagos. And remember, bartering is part of the fun/game. Because Nigerians love to communicate and argue over prices! 😊"

"Best place to buy Nigerian historical arts & crafts and paintings. So many varieties of souvenirs which carry Nigeria and Africa culture. Fully hand crafted pieces.
If you’re a foreigner you should be careful about price as they will ask like crazy. But shop keepers are good people.
Loved the place except the road."
