"The museum definitely feels lackluster, but the admission is free and there's English explanation for most exhibits, which makes up for it.

The building itself is a former railway station that was partly destroyed during Skopje's 1963 earthquake. I loved that they left the partly destroyed part as it is, showing the destruction of the earthquake as it is. Which matches with the main theme of the museum, showcasing the history of Skopje before and after the earthquake. The museum also has another section showing some archeological items, but doesn't provide much explanations. Most of the building is still under renovation so only a small part of it is accessible."
