"What a super impressive biking trip in Narvik,
We shared up a local track alongside the beautiful views with mountains, forests and fjord. We made a memorable communion which beyond biking itself, including cultural interactions, snacks sharing and history explanations souring Nordic areas. Nice and friendly guider there with a cute puppy. I just bring myself there, all rest like helmet, water, everything prepared for you. Highly recommended to choose bike touring if go Narvik!"

"We had a great e-mtb ride with our guide, Blanche, stunning views and yummy snacks. She explained everything about the bikes. I had not ridden an e-mtb before so was a bit nervous. Blanche was patient and put my mind at rest.
Later in the evening we went with Lena to look for some Northern Lights. While we waited, she cooked up waffles and offered other cinnamon snacks and a warm Berry drink, something we'd not tried before. It took a while and we all had just about given up hope of seeing any then on our way back to the city area, all of a sudden boom, there they were. Thanks to both of you."

Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
For Northern Lights viewing, consider tours that are shorter or have comfortable waiting areas, as late nights can be challenging for younger children. Some operators might offer family-specific aurora experiences. Dressing everyone in warm, waterproof gear is paramount to ensure comfort during outdoor excursions.
💰 Budget Travelers
Packing your own snacks and drinks can save money on tours and during your explorations. Look for accommodations slightly outside the main city center, which may offer lower rates. Many of the most stunning natural sights, like the fjords and mountains, are free to access and admire.

Chasing the Aurora Borealis
When aurora hunting, remember that patience is key. The lights can appear suddenly and dance for minutes or hours. It's essential to dress warmly in multiple layers, as temperatures can plummet well below freezing. Bringing a thermos with a hot drink and some snacks, like the delicious waffles mentioned by visitors, can significantly enhance the experience.
For photography enthusiasts, capturing the aurora requires specific settings. A tripod is non-negotiable for long exposures, and a wide-angle lens with a fast aperture (f/2.8 or lower) is ideal. Manual settings for ISO, aperture, and shutter speed will allow you to capture the vibrant colors and movement of the lights.
Exploring Narvik by E-Bike
Guided e-bike tours offer an added layer of insight, with local guides sharing knowledge about the Nordic areas, cultural interactions, and even historical explanations. These tours often include stops for snacks, such as local waffles and warm berry drinks, turning a simple bike ride into a memorable cultural experience. The trails range from scenic routes alongside fjords to more adventurous paths through forests and mountains, offering breathtaking views at every turn.
When planning your e-bike adventure, consider the weather. While pleasant for biking in warmer months, be prepared for cooler temperatures and potential rain, especially at higher elevations. The flexibility of an e-bike allows you to stop frequently to admire the scenery, take photos, and truly immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Narvik region.
