What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the National Justice Museum for its unique, immersive experience and the fascinating history it presents. The mock trials and costumed characters are frequently highlighted as engaging features. While the building's atmosphere and historical significance are widely appreciated, some visitors note that certain exhibits might be less accessible to non-Norwegian speakers, and lighting in some areas could be improved.
"This is probably one of the most unique museums I’ve ever been to. It does a great job of explaining the history of Norway’s penal system, including the major changes it faced through the years. I only spent around an hour and half here, but could have totally stayed for at least two and a half hours.
Other great things about the museum include the English translations in some areas, accessible entryways, and lots of great visuals—both aesthetics and atmosphere."

"This is a fascinating museum and unlike any museum I’ve ever visited. It will have you asking questions you didn’t know you have about the concept of justice, as well as what the role of prison is, is it more for punishment or reform, for example."
Caro Sassone
"Very nice content however the lighting, souvenir shop and the description of the items are practically non existent if you are not Norwegian. They also have some quiz about the items displayed but again impossible if you don't know norwegian"
