What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Skageflå is lauded for its breathtaking views of the Geirangerfjord and the Seven Sisters Waterfall, offering a challenging yet rewarding hike. Visitors appreciate the historical aspect of the abandoned farm and the unique perspective it provides. However, the steep and sometimes slippery trail, unpredictable weather, and the cost of boat transport are common considerations.
"Great place to hike to or go by the boat during your visit to Geiranger. We went by sup boards and it was magical, although the weather on the fjord could be unpredictable, so it’s probably better to go during a good weather, if you decide to go by yourself on kayak or sup boards. The place is truly unique, the hike from the bay is a bit steep, so be prepared."

"A challenging but rewarding hike. My wife and I booked a boat tour of the fjord which included a drop off/pickup for this hike. It is a steep climb, with some parts being assisted with railings. The views from the top (and along the way) are wonderful. There is a public bathroom/outhouse on the farm but it is a last resort type of situation. The way back was more challenging than the way up. Lots of rocks and weird angles make balancing yourself difficult. With that being said, we got back much faster than it took to get to the top. At a slow pace, about 1.5 hours round trip of hiking, plus another hour at the farm itself."

"Very vertical for the entire trek up with many handrails which make it manageable. Recommend using Fjord Guiding to schedule the boat to the trailhead and back in advance. Double check your timing is right for the return trip to meet the boat at the meeting spot. Also parking in the town is hectic, so plan for extra time if driving."
